How to Purchase a Firearm from Chisel and Plane Workshop

Please, contact us first to insure that the particular firearm is still available and to ask any questions you have before sending payment.  After you have contacted us to confirm that payment and necessary paperwork have been sent, we will place the firearm on hold for you for seven days.  If payment is not received after seven days, the firearm will go back up for sale.

Purchasing Antique Firearms Built In Or Before 1898:  Chisel and Plane Workshop is a licensed firearm dealer.  We will only ship an antique handgun to a verified adult that is 21 years or older, 18 for rifles and shotguns.  For proof of age, we require a copy of the purchasers drivers license before the antique firearm will be shipped.  Dealers, please provide by mail or email a certified copy of your FFL or C&R for our records.  It is your (the buyers) responsibility to ensure that this antique firearm is legal for you to own and receive in the State and location where you reside.

Antique firearms should be checked for safety by a competent gunsmith that is knowledgeable in antique firearms before attempting to fire.

Purchasing a Modern Firearm Built After 1898:  Chisel and Plane Workshop is a licensed firearm dealer.  You do not have to be a licensed dealer to buy a firearm from us.  If you are not a licensed firearm dealer (also called an FFL Holder), you must make arrangements with an FFL Holder (local gun shop) in your state to receive and transfer the firearm to you.  You must make arrangements with your FFL Holder before purchasing.  By contacting the local FFL Holder before purchasing, the buyer can verify that all state and federal laws will be observed.  Most FFL Holders will charge a fee for this service.  For modern firearms, the buyer must be able to pass a background (NICS) check at time of transfer.  Once you have located an FFL Holder, you will need to get a signed copy of the gun dealer's FFL license and send it to us with your payment.  After we receive payment and certified copy of FFL, we will ship the firearm to the FFL Holder's address.  The FFL Holder will then do the necessary paperwork and NICS check to transfer ownership of the firearm to you.

C&R Holders:  C&R's must be signed in ink and are accepted by mail only.

Shipping and Handling:  No International shipping.  Modern firearms (built after 1898) will only be shipped to a FFL Holder for transfer to buyer.

Payment:  Payment can be made by credit card, money order, cashier, business or personal check.
